I spent much of my career watching great ideas, people, and companies fail for reasons that had nothing to do with the quality of the idea, person, or business.
I've worked with startup founders, researchers, executives, students, business owners, sales teams, universities, and global organizations.
On the surface, they couldn't be more different. Different industries, goals, audiences, and challenges.
Yet I've seen one problem repeat itself over and over again.
People with valuable ideas, products, research, expertise, or experience struggling to communicate their value clearly enough for others to understand it, believe it, and act on it.
I've seen promising startups fail to make sales or secure investment. Innovative companies struggle to find customers. Leaders fail to inspire confidence. Brilliant professionals are overlooked for opportunities they deserved. Researchers unable to explain discoveries that could genuinely improve people's lives and miss out on crucial funding opportunities.
Often, the ideas were great. Usually, the people were smart and capable.
But because they were never able to communicate the value as clearly to their audience as it was in their own mind, their idea, business, or research never succeeded.
Watching that happen for years was frustrating. Then I realized it didn't have to be that way.
I began helping people solve that problem, and I started seeing amazing results. Founders securing investment. Businesses winning customers. Leaders communicating with greater confidence. Teams becoming aligned. Professionals opening doors that had previously been closed.
What changed?
The way it was communicated became much clearer after working together.
Watching someone stop being misunderstood and finally receive the recognition, opportunities, and results they deserve.
That's what gets me out of bed in the morning.
That's why I do what I do...
Why I Do What I Do
Leading a workshop at Ideon Science Park
I grew up in the United States before making Sweden my home more than twenty years ago. Living and working across North America, Europe, and even a month in China has given me a perspective on business cultures that few communication advisors have. I understand not only the language, but also the cultural differences that influence how people build trust, communicate ideas, and make decisions.
Throughout my career, I've worn many hats. Entrepreneur, consultant, employee, university lecturer, speaker, mentor, coach, and advisor. Each role has given me another opportunity to observe the same challenge from a different perspective.
Over the years, I've reviewed more than 4,000 real-world pitches, worked with founders developing their first startup, leadership teams navigating major organizational change, researchers explaining complex science, and experienced professionals preparing for career-defining conversations.
Those experiences have taught me something that shapes every engagement.
While every situation was unique, the underlying challenge was often surprisingly similar. Seeing thousands of real conversations across so many industries has given me the ability to recognize patterns that aren't always obvious to the people living inside the problem.
Often, that's where I add the greatest value. That experience allows me to quickly identify what's preventing an idea from connecting with the people who matter most.
That's why, when meeting someone new, I never begin with slides, presentation techniques, or delivery skills.
I begin by understanding what they're trying to achieve.
Only then do we decide the best way to get there.
